OH NOES!

SPECIAL EDITION!
MASSIVE ESCAPE FROM AZKABAN!

by Patrick McCroch

While the majority of wizarding citizens were settling down for their dinners, the Aurors were being called to the scene of a deja-vu type incident. For the second time in less than fifteen years, several inmates at the Azkaban wizarding prison have escaped. Around six o'clock last evening, some of the scariest and worst feared wizards of our time escaped from a once thought inescapable fortress.

After the breakout of Sirius Black in 1993 and the massive breakout that occurred in 1995, which included several well known death eaters, plans had been made to refortify the wizarding prison. These structural changes, however, were unable to prevent a third breakout.

While the sequence of events is unclear at this time, the name of several escaped inmates are known. Among the escapees are Bellatrix Lestrange, Antonin Dolohov, Walden MacNair, Megan Jones, Anthony Goldstein, Genevieve Montague and Adrian Pucey.

A single name from the list is more than enough to still even the bravest of hearts. How, then, could the escape of all of them be possible?

"Azkaban has no official statement as this time," said Franklin Sheriff, warden for the prison. This statement is unsurprising, as the two previous breakouts can tell us.

Bellatrix Lestrange is responsible for more than twenty convicted murders, and countless others that of which she's never been formally convicted. Dolohov, MacNair, and Pucey are serving time for war crimes under He-who-still-must-not-be-named. Genevieve Montague is in for the poisoning of a Ministry official, and most of the wizarding world still recalls the sensational trial of Goldstein and Jones that landed them both in Azkaban.

We are assured by the Ministry that Aurors are already on the case.

"Each escapee has at least one Auror assigned to them, some more," reports Chief Auror Kingsley Shaklebolt. "Even Harry Potter is working a case. We'll bring them back in. We've got dedicated Aurors on the job."

Such dedicated Aurors include Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, recently un-retired for the second time and responsible for bringing more dark wizards to Azkaban than any other Auror.

We can only hope that the apprehension of these murders occurs before they do any more harm to the wizarding world than they've already wrought. While they are unaccounted for, however, we can only stress that you do everything in your power to keep yourself and your family safe.
